Executive Vice President and Director of Research
David E. Altig is executive vice president and director of research at the Atlanta Fed. In addition to advising the bank’s president on monetary policy and related matters, he serves as a member of its management and discount committees. Altig is an adjunct professor of economics at the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business. Altig has served as a director of the National Association for Business Economics and as vice president and associate director of research at the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland. He earned his bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Iowa and his master's and doctorate in economics from Brown University.
