Debunking Myths Crippling Next Generation Recruitment

Great government requires great public service and the ability to attract and hire young and talented people from all parts of our society. Widespread misperceptions about relevant rules have hindered recent efforts by federal agencies eager to bring energetic, talented young people with 21st century skills into government to tackle 21st century problems. The Volcker Alliance reached out to enlist two partners, the Partnership for Public Service and the Robertson Foundation for Government, to address this problem. The “Myth Busters” toolkit debunks myths interfering with federal internships and recent graduate hiring. A companion effort to help federal agencies strengthen internships and recent graduates is underway.
