Margot Conrad and Jackie Speedy Join the Volcker Alliance
As we head into Fall and the start of a new academic year, we are thrilled to welcome Margot Conrad and Jackie Speedy to the Volcker Alliance’s full-time senior management team.
Margot Conrad joined the Volcker Alliance in January 2025 as the inaugural Paul A. Volcker Public Service Fellow and is now taking on a permanent Senior Director role. Margot designed and now oversees the Public Service Ambassadors Initiative, which places AmeriCorps alumni in communities across the country to host listening sessions with 18–25-year-olds. Margot also manages the Accountability and Reform Research Consortium (ARRC), which examines and raises public awareness of how changes to the federal workforce affect public service delivery, citizens, and democratic governance.
Prior to joining the Alliance, Margot served as deputy chief of staff at the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) under the Biden-Harris Administration. She also served as Senior Advisor and Executive Director of the Chief Human Capital Officers Council. Before joining OPM, Margot spent 15 years at the Partnership for Public Service, a nonprofit organization dedicated to building a better government and stronger democracy. There she held a range of leadership roles, including director of government affairs and director of federal recruiting and hiring programs.
Jackie Speedy joins the Alliance as a Senior Director after serving as a special advisor since March 2026. She leads the design, implementation, and evaluation of the Alliance’s public service education and leadership programs, including the Constructive Dialogue Scaling Initiative and the Summer Policy Academy.
Jackie comes to the Alliance after nearly two decades at Carnegie Mellon University’s Heinz College of Information Systems and Public Policy, where she most recently served as Associate Dean of Academic Programs. As a member of the college's senior leadership team, she oversaw the strategy, operations, and continuous improvement of its professional master's programs. She continues to serve as an Executive Fellow at Carnegie Mellon, teaching leadership development seminars through the Center for Leadership Studies.
