Public Service Academy Virtual Design Conference

On Friday, April 17, 2020, the Volcker Alliance, in partnership with Watts College of Public Service and Community Solutions at Arizona State University (ASU), hosted a virtual design seminar. This Design Seminar provided leadership from twelve Schools of Public Service with an opportunity to explore ASU’s Public Service Academy undergraduate certificate program. The central goal of the seminar was to generate collective momentum and accelerate schools’ planning around expanded engagement of undergraduate learners in public service education.
During the Design Seminar, the ASU team offered a brief overview of the essential components of the Public Service Academy model; shared one student’s perspective on the value and impact of the program on her undergraduate learning experience and thinking about career paths; provided an opportunity to ask questions and share some of the opportunities and challenges to undergraduate engagement; and encouraged participating universities to productively continue this collaborative planning effort in the coming months.
