S2S Veterans Day Message

This Veterans Day, the Volcker Alliance announces an expansion of its pioneering Service to Service program, welcoming 17 new schools of public service to the initiative. Developed in partnership with We the Veterans and Military Families, Service to Service connects veterans and military families with public service education pathways and propels them into impactful careers in state and local government. By building clear pathways from military to civilian service, Service to Service helps veterans and military families serve again.

Participating schools are members of the Deans Summit, a collaborative network of institutions that confer degrees in public policy, public administration, and public affairs. The newest Service to Service schools include:

“Service to Service addresses the urgent need for talent in state and local government and aims to rebuild public trust,” said Sara Mogulescu, president of the Volcker Alliance. “Veterans and military-connected family members bring exactly what the government needs—integrity, nonpartisan leadership experience, public service values, and the credibility to help restore confidence in our institutions.”

Service to Service will host a recruitment fair on November 18 from 4-6 p.m. EST to introduce veterans, active-duty service members, reservists, and military families to graduate programs in public policy, public administration, and related fields. The fair is open to anyone in the military community interested in exploring these educational pathways and learning more about state and local government careers.
