Paul A. Volcker Addresses the Bretton Woods Committee’s Annual Meeting

Alliance Chairman Paul Volcker describes the Bretton Woods ideals that dominated thinking and policies at the U.S. Treasury when he first entered the civil service 50 years ago. Posing the question, “What About a New Bretton Woods?” he suggests that today’s mutual interdependence requires a higher degree of international cooperation and coordination.
