Yesenia Martinez joined the Volcker Alliance in 2018. As a fellow, she supports the Government-to-University Initiative (G2U) through the implementation of Regional Councils and development of generalizable content of lessons learned and replicable tools that address critical governance challenges. Previously, Ms. Martinez was the district liaison for a New York State Assemblymember where she assisted constituents with their state or local government issues and fostered collaborative partnerships with intergovernmental agencies, local leaders, and community members. Prior to that, Ms. Martinez was a project coordinator for the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials (NALEO) Educational Fund, where she carried out advocacy efforts with California state and local policymakers to increase access to the electoral process and improve election administration. Ms. Martinez holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern California and a master of public administration from the New York University Wagner Graduate School of Public Service.
