Anthony J. Dowd is the president and chief executive of Fairfield-Maxwell LTD, a global leader in the transportation of chemicals and seismic services for the energy industry. Mr. Dowd also serves on Fairfield’s Board of Directors. Prior to joining Fairfield in 2017, Mr. Dowd was the president of the Volcker Alliance and the chief of staff for the chairman of the Economic Recovery Advisory Board, Paul A. Volcker.

Mr. Dowd has more than twenty years of experience in private equity, including serving as the managing partner at Charter Oak Capital Partners, and as an operating partner at both Linx Partners and Mill Point Capital. Mr. Dowd is a former director of Hostess Brands and Future Pipe Industries. He recently completed service as a Trustee of the Financial Accounting Foundation, which oversees the FASB and GASB, where he served as Chairman of the Appointments Committee.

Mr. Dowd is a former US Army officer. He graduated with distinction from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1981 with a bachelor of science in engineering. He received a master of business administration from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1988.
