Sarah Morningred joined the Volcker Alliance in March 2019. As communications associate, Ms. Morningred works with the senior leadership team to develop and execute a communications strategy that advances the organization's mission to empower the public sector workforce to solve the challenges facing our nation. In this role, she develops talking points, press releases, media pitches, speeches, and other messaging. Additionally, Ms. Morningred helps manage the design, development, and maintenance of all the Alliance's online platforms, including the website and social media.
Prior to working for the Alliance, Ms. Morningred graduated magna cum laude from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo with her bachelor of arts in English, minors in Spanish, linguistics, psychology, and women’s and gender studies, and a certificate in Teaching English as a Second Language. During her four years at Cal Poly, she worked as the communications manager in the campus Veterans’ Center and served as a university ambassador.
In August 2021, Ms. Morningred moved from New York to Austin, Texas, to pursue a master of public affairs from The University of Texas at Austin's LBJ School while continuing to work part-time for the Alliance.
