Sarah Morningred joined the Volcker Alliance in March 2019. As communications associate, Ms. Morningred works with the director of communications and senior leadership team to develop and execute a communications strategy that advances the organization's mission to empower the public sector workforce to solve the challenges facing the nation. In this role, she develops talking points, press releases, media pitches, speeches, and other messaging. Additionally, Ms. Morningred helps manage the design, development, and maintenance of all the Alliance's online platforms, including the website and social media, and supports the Alliance's Government-to-University Initiative (G2U).
Before working at the Alliance, Ms. Morningred graduated magna cum laude from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo with her bachelor of arts in English, minors in Spanish, linguistics, psychology, and women’s and gender studies, and a certificate in Teaching English as a Second Language. During her four years at Cal Poly, she worked as the communications manager in the campus Veterans’ Center and served as a university ambassador, representing the school on campus tours and at events with prospective students, alumni, and potential donors.
Ms. Morningred was born and raised in Southern California and now resides in Brooklyn.
