Government College Relations Council

The Governmental College Relations Council (GCRC) was founded in Chicago in 1968.  It is a professional association that supports working relationships between representatives from accredited post-secondary colleges/universities and federal, state, county, and local governments.  

The mission and purpose of the Government College Relations Council is to foster career related communication and cooperation between college and government communities through the dissemination of new and relevant information and the formation of mutually beneficial relationships. GCRC's primary goals are to:

  • Assist college students and graduates find career-related jobs with government employers.

  • Help government employers find educated and skilled employees to meet their hiring needs.

  • Provide professional development and networking opportunities to promote communication among GCRC members.

GCRC is partnering with the Volcker Alliance on the Government-to-University Initiative in the greater Chicago region.
